Tales from the Monoverse

We want to expand on the concept of the Monochrome Noir mystery/thriller series by opening it up to multiple genres, and are looking for authors to join us on this unique journey.

With the ever-expanding interest in the concept of the multiverse in popular media, the time is right to create our own black & white Monoverse.

If you are an aspiring writer looking to get published, an established author looking for additional exposure, or a friend of Last Waltz just wanting to be a part of this cool project, then we would like to hear from you!

The concept is simple: do you love the aesthetic of old grayscale Universal and Hammer horror films? How about the monochrome serial westerns and cop dramas from yesteryear? Vintage reel-to-reel erotica? Old-school sci-fi? Modern black & white takes on films like Logan, Mad Max, and The Lighthouse? If so, now is your chance to draft a narrative set in the types of black & white worlds in which those tales took place.

What we are looking for:

Short-stories, 4k – 6k words in length, set in the greater Monochrome Noir mythology/concept, where the world is forever trapped in the black & white color scheme of old movies & photographs. In this grayscale world, items of color are extremely uncommon. These stories can be devoid of color entirely, or can just reference colors tangentially. Hell, a rare item of color could even be the main focus. Your tales do not need to take place in the past. Also, these stories do not need to reference the events of the existing Monochrome Noir series at all. But, if you want to go that route, that’s ok too!
